Last week, we closed the book-cover contest to celebrate Erin’s new book, The Chicago Guide for Freelance Editors. We hope you enjoyed seeing everyone’s pictures; we know we did!
All the prize winners have been given the good news, and now we’re ready to share them with the world. Winners were chosen at random, except for Most Creative. We had a tough time deciding (editors are creative people!), but we narrowed it down to one that seemed most fitting and fun.
Most Creative Post
The Most Creative Post goes to Erica Williams for her picture taken at The Last Bookstore in Los Angeles. Erica’s photo made us want to hop on a plane to check out this 22,000-square-foot store in person.
Erica is a nonfiction copyeditor specializing in K–12 curriculum. She’ll receive our Getting Started Kit, featuring a digital copy of our forthcoming companion workbook to The Chicago Guide for Freelance Editors, a notebook and pen, a bookmark, and stickers.
Grand Prize
Our Grand Prize winner is Cynthia Williams, the owner of Style Sheets Editorial, a senior editor at Dragonfly Editorial, and author of Outside the Book, a blog that highlights editors of color.
Cynthia won a one-hour coaching session, a Getting Started Kit, and a signed bookplate.
Second Prize
Our Second Prize winner is Ayesha Chari, an independent editor who focuses on sensitive editing for academic and scholarly texts. She’s also an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
Ayesha won a Getting Started Kit.
Third Prizes
Our Third Prize is a signed bookplate and stickers. We gave away six Third Prizes:
- Nancy Barron, owner of Fresh Pond Editorial
- Faith Donovan, owner of Put to the Proof Editing Solutions
- Joni McNeal, self-described grammar geek, bookworm, and word nerd
- Ellis Prybylski, co-owner of Insomnia Self-Publishing Services
- Anna Biunno, proposal content editor at Elevance Health
- Sara Wilson, senior editor at ICF International
Congratulations to all our winners, and thanks to everyone for playing along! If you didn’t win or didn’t get a chance to enter this time, we’ll hold another contest later in the summer. Stay tuned!
