Representing Copyediting, Right Tough Editing won the New England Direct Marketing Association’s (NEDMA’s) 2018 Gold Award in the Collateral category (brochures, catalogs, annual reports) for work on the Organization Subscription Package.
Brenner worked with Copyediting training director Laura Poole to put together a promotional package for prospective organization members. The packet consists of an informational flyer, guidance on how to pitch the subscription to your boss, sample newsletter, sample article, promotional stickers, and business cards, all in a branded folder.
The Organization Subscription is aimed at companies, agencies, publishers, and any group that has more than one editor on the team. Through the subscription, the team shares training to learn to work together more effectively and produce more consistent, brand-focused work.
“Copyediting was meeting a lot of editors at conferences and events but wasn’t connecting with team managers, who would make training decisions for their staff, and editors were uncertain how to make the pitch successfully to their bosses,” said Brenner. “The packet was conceived not only as a link to decision-makers but also as a sort of training tool for editors to make their argument for training to their bosses.”
“We wanted something tangible for interested people to take back to their workplace to show what we could offer,” said Poole. “Packets were only given to those who expressed real interest, and we gathered their contact information for focused, individualized follow-up.”
This is Right Touch Editing’s second win with NEDMA, In 2017, the company won a Bronze Award for its work on SAP’s Revealed: The Insider’s Guide to SAP’s Employment Brand.
